The TDC mark is in line, the cam lobes are downwards (@4/8 o'clock) and the marks on the cam sprocket are level with the top of the cylinder head (@3/9 o'clock).
I'm looking at the cam sprocket marks and one side is 2mm high and the other 2mm low.
If I move it one link either way, the marks seem to be massively out.
Is this correct? Is there no way you could mistakenly be one link out either way and it not be obvious?
Cam sprocket marks question???

Re: Cam sprocket marks question???
Hello Baldock,
The markings on the camshaft sprocket should be aligned with the housing on the right and left. That is the theory.
In reality, it is never that exact. Why?
The timing chain is new or used, the cylinder base gasket is thicker or thinner, the cylinder head gasket is thicker or thinner, the cylinder head has been face-milled.
Find the best position for the chain and camshaft sprocket.
Cheers Gunnar
