Hello,

What are the best characteristics you like on your XL500? And what do you dislike?
I for starters like on my XL500S the following:
- The biggest wheels on any multisurface motorcycle, 23'' front, 18'' rear
- Air cooled engine with lots ot torque in low revs
- No oil filter, I can change my oil everywhere there is motoroil available, no worries to go to the dealer to find the proper filter
- No oil running inside the frame like later models. Less connections to be in danger of leaking
- Engine energetic part of the frame, more solid and I can easily drop down the engine when I want without asking for assistance
- Tough and hard skidplate
- No multilink rear monoshoch, no worries to get in the nightmare dismantling all these parts to grease them
- The biggest round organs I have seen, a pleasure to watch them vibrate in front of me and with this dark orange red colour at night!
- The style. I am in love with the looks of my XL500S

I dislike:
- 6Volts, I would prefer 12Volts
- The camshaft running straight in the aluminium, no bearings

Hmmm, first of all it's the sound, that makes me horny about her.

To be able to do much working on my own, without paying astronomical taxes at the mechanics, the second.

Her outstanding finish, with easy chances of pimping it up and down, my third and last favourite.

What I really dislike is the way, the electric has been build - have seen much better constructions on other bikes, depending her class.

I also got a rack when I sat on my XL the first time.
But now I'm just happy burning down some fuel ^^.
