What are the best characteristics you like on your XL500? And what do you dislike?
I for starters like on my XL500S the following:
- The biggest wheels on any multisurface motorcycle, 23'' front, 18'' rear
- Air cooled engine with lots ot torque in low revs
- No oil filter, I can change my oil everywhere there is motoroil available, no worries to go to the dealer to find the proper filter
- No oil running inside the frame like later models. Less connections to be in danger of leaking
- Engine energetic part of the frame, more solid and I can easily drop down the engine when I want without asking for assistance
- Tough and hard skidplate
- No multilink rear monoshoch, no worries to get in the nightmare dismantling all these parts to grease them
- The biggest round organs I have seen, a pleasure to watch them vibrate in front of me and with this dark orange red colour at night!
- The style. I am in love with the looks of my XL500S
I dislike:
- 6Volts, I would prefer 12Volts
- The camshaft running straight in the aluminium, no bearings
