Soon the time to assemble the cylinder head and valve cover. As a motor rookie I am very uncertain. When I look at my Haynes I can find different figures for torque.
I would appreciate your experience.
Greetings from Sweden.

That's right, there are 6mm and 7mm and camsproket. Take a look to the picture.

Hello Happyswed,
you did asked us to our experience.
The M6 thread must withstand exactly 10Nm. Not more not less. When the threads run away you need thread-inserts from "HeliCoil" or "TimeSert" or "Ensat". The aluminum cylinder head is very soft.
Best regards

Many thanks for your info!
I have now made the first test with the 4 off M6 bolt to the Valve adjuster lid. I use 10 Nm and it was OK.
I still have problem with a broken M6 bolt left in the cylinder head. I have drilled a 4 mm hole into the bolt. One person recommended me to use a left-hand drill. Any experience?
Also in the cylinder head there is a broken Helicoil insert. Same person recommended me to drill a bigger hole, for M8 or M10 if it was possible. Then made an "insert" from a bolt and made a M6 tread in it. Good idea?
Do you use any Loctite or similare?
Thanks in advance!

Very interesting. Send us a photo. Max. size largest side 760 px.
Left-hand-drill can help you, but you have to heat up the section before trying.
And the dont break-through the drill-out-tool (worst case).
Using a bigger insert is also a good idea, but there must be enough material (flesh) around.
No Loctite for screws, maybe for the inserts.
Hej då
