I'm new here and actually doesn't even own a XL yet. To begin I hope I can get information here.

At the moment there is one XL 500 Dakar with first registration 03/-82 for sale in mobile.de. Is there any possibility to find one similar bike that is registered already in year -81 ?

Yes, model was -82, but as my link showed the bike was registered in 03/82. If the first registration would have happened little more than three months earlier, it will be considered as -81 here by Finnish officials.

Reason for my -81 seeking is that in 2007 all original car and bikes which are more than 25 years old (so 1981 is ok), can be registered as a historic vehicles here in Finland. Usage will be limited but insurance will be very cheap. In 2008 rules will change so that only 30+ old will do. This is reason for my odd question that is there any possibility to find one with "Erstzulassung -81" ?
