honda xl 250

Hello... I have bought honda xl 250r 1983 for about 100eur.
BUT I need camshaft for her. Camshaft on 250r looks the same as cam on xl500r but is it the same???? Thanks

Oh,oh, philosophical discussion!
It depends first from the model of the bike. It should be the MD03, then at least the size of the camshaft is the same as the 500. I'm not sure about the valve timing, because i can't maesure the cam ...
Looks actually the same ...

Shape of camshaft is the same .Cam from xl 500 fit's perfectly on xl 250r head only problem is valve timing is that the same?. I have Haynes manual. In there says this
VALVE TIMINIG
Xl 250 xl 500
inlet opens 5/58 BTDC 5/58 BTDC
inlet clo.ses 30/96 ABDC 40/106 ABDC
exhaust opens 35/83 BBDC 45/95 BBDC
exhaust clos.es 5/65 ATDC 5/65 ATDC
That meens that Inlet valve opens the same as xl 500
but on 250 valve clo.ses a bit earlier or a bit later then the xl 500?
And exhaust valve opens a bit earlier or later then xl 500?
Can someone expalain this?
