Why does the Honda fiche show two different packs of piston rings for each size piston?
The only difference in the part numbers is the last digit.
eg. RINGS A = 13011429003, RINGS B = 13011429005 (both for standard size piston)

Re: why two part numbers for each size piston rings?
I'm about to fit the barrel (rebored to +0.50)
I have the NOS Honda +0.50 piston (13103429000)
I have the NOS Honda +0.50 set of rings (13031429005)
But CMSL fiche shows 2 original Honda +0.50 sets of rings, mine and the same part number but ending in 3.
There must be a reason for this and I'm reluctant to continue with the assembly until I find why.

I found out the reason why.
The 003 set were the original rings that were discontinued and then superseded by the 005. The 005 ones are now also discontinued.
Different part numbers but exactly the same product.

Re: why two part numbers for each size piston rings?
I guess they changed something little between 003 and 005!
Maybe the 3rd oilring changed the form or just an other supplier for the set?
